Window into Another World
I have an interest in biology and wanted to create an installation that shows how delicate and incredible the forest floor is. This project was largely inspired by mushrooms and fungi. How these species communicate through a network of mycelium with almost all the other plant species is incredible to me. I really wanted to allow visitors to be able to interact with the installation by letting the fungi "transfer" information to the person standing by the projection.
After showing my concepts the main feedback given was concerning the size of the installation and how I wanted to make it interactive. I focused mainly on the size, and purchased a mirror to play with the effect of the projection. This projection still needs to be made, because animating the set up took longer than I had expected.
